Donncha O’Dea

Donncha joined the Performing Arts School Galway in 1992 at the age of 10 where he was trained in drama, dance and singing for six years. Upon leaving he became the third ever recipient of the Performing Arts Certificate of Excellence in 1999. Growing up in Galway he performed in musical shows such as Chess, The Joy of Living, as Joseph in Joseph & His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and in 1996 he played Sammy in the Premier of Johnny Angel.

In 1995 Donncha had an involvement with the dance troupe Shoes With Wings On and was also a founder member of Codswallop Theatre Group who performed their devised show Extempore in the Dublin Fringe Festival 1995.

In 1999, UCD Dramsoc provided a platform for Donncha and he appeared as Edward in Christopher Durang's An Actors Nightmare, Brad in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, God in A Talk With God, Jack Skellington in Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Johnny in All Dancers Go To Heaven for which he was nominated for a DA Award in 2002.

Since college Donncha has appeared as Jareth in Three Blind Mice’s production of Labyrinth in 2001, Lolo Production/RTE short film Can You Feel It? in March 2002, Over The Hills And Far Away in May 2002, Shamira ProductionsThrough The Wall in October 2002, The Box in February 2003 and in November 2004 he played Uli in Motel Story at Trinity College’s Players Theatre.

In 2006 Donncha completed the Advanced Performance Course at the Gaiety School of Acting. During his time in the Gaiety School he played John in After Miss Julie by Patrick Marber, Henry in Angels in America by Tony Kushner,Lawerence in For Whom The Southern Belle Tolls by Christopher Durang, Edmund in Edmund by David Mamet and Leo Bloomin The Producers by Mel Brooks.

Donncha is a founding member of Dopplegang cabaret troupe and aside from playing the character Joe Soap has also choreographed many of the companys shows including Meet The Group, Back In Business and Dopplegang Do Disco.

Since completing his training Donncha has appeared as Headless Joe in Go Licky (Snackbox), Violo in Twelfth Night (Public Shakespeare), Scarecrow in Oz A Fairytale Plot (Dopplegang), Bob Cratchit in A Christmas Carol (Talisman), Senater in Julius Caesar (Abbey), Prince Charming in Cinderella (Talisman), Petruchio in The Taming of The Shrew (Public Shakespeare) and Fighter in The War of The Roses (Whiplash)

Glenn McGuinness

Glenn began his dancing career as a Hip Hop and Break-dancer under the teaching of Charlotte  Francis at The Fresh ‘n’ FunkyHipHop School at the tender age of 10.

Growing in knowledge and experience he went on to become a judge for the Irish Hip Hop Federation in 2005.

Glenn then won the Battle of Ireland in both 2005 & 2006 He appeared on RTE’s Chance to Dance and MTV's Shakedown with world renowned choreographer Wade Robson. His musical theatre credits include: Oz a Fairytale Plot with Doppelgang at Liberty Hall, Material Girls with Marc Cleary at Belvedere College and Snow White at Liberty Hall, to name but a few!Glenn is also a resident teacher at The Fresh ‘n’ FunkyHipHop School.

Nicky Leonard

Nicky has been involved in theatre since as far back as he can remember. He has sang, danced and acted in many shows such as Jesus Christ Superstar as Simon Zealots, The Hot Mikado as Nanki-Poo, Joey & Maria's Wedding as Les Vegas and more recently The Soprano's Last Supper as Mickey the Mick, to name but a few.
       
Nicky is joining the cast of “My Boy Elvis" as one of its dancers 'The Heartbreakers' and would like to wish the cast and crew all the best for its world premier and all future runs. He hopes you enjoy the show as much as he's enjoyed being part of it.

 

 

Sarah Ryan

Sarah is the choreographer of My Boy Elvis. She will also be performing as part of the My Boy Elvis dance troupe.

Sarah has an extensive background in performance – both dance and drama. Sarah has trained in Colaiste Dhulaigh and The Gaiety School of Acting, gaining a F.E.T.A.C award in Theatre Studies, Bronze L.A.M.D.A award in Dramatic Performance and a Certificate in Performance Craft. She is currently undertaking a Licentiate Diploma in Speech & Drama from The Leinster School of Music & Drama.

Sarah was choreographer for the interactive dinner show –“Sopranos Last Supper” in The Tivoli Theatre. She also performed as dancer and actor in this production. For the past 4 years Sarah has been employed as choreographer for Colaiste Choilm, Swords annual musicals. Each cast consists of 60 pupils and Sarah draws on many different dance styles, ranging from Hip Hop to Jazz to Ballet.

Sarah is a resident teacher in BackStreet Dance and Performing Arts Academy where she teaches Hip-Hop and Musical Theatre. www.backstreetdance.ie

As well as having a flourishing dance career, Sarah is also an up and coming Irish actor. Theatre credits include: The Kings Threshold, The Sopranos Last Supper, The Importance of Being Earnest, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Oz: A Fairytale Plot, At The Hawks Well, Road, Joey and Maria’s Comedy Italian  Wedding – to name but a few!

Film and TV credits include: Fair City, The Apollo Music Club, The TinMan, Feeding the Ducks and Rudai le Deanamh Roimh Aibrean (with TG4). Sarah is delighted to be a part of My Boy Elvis.

Fiona Keller

Fiona has just completed a BA (Hons) degree in Theatre and Performing Arts with Middlesex University. She has also trained in Colaiste Dhulaigh, NPAS, The Independent Theatre Workshop and with Betty Ann Norton. Previous theatre credits include; ‘Oh What A Lovely War’ , ‘My Normality an adaptation of the works of Sarah Kane’, ‘The Merchant of Venice’, ‘Player Queen’, and ‘Road’ to name but a few. Also a lifetime fan of musicals Fiona has performed as dancer in; Carousel, The Best Little Whore House in Texas and Chess. She currently teaches Speech and Drama for children in various schools and has also held drama workshops for adult Day Centres in Dublin.
Fiona is delighted to be a part of My Boy Elvis.

Melissa Nolan

Melissa holds a BETEC Higher National Diploma in Theatre & Media Studies from Colaiste Dhulaigh and a Licentiate Diploma in Speech & Drama from The Leinster School of Music & Drama. She is a past student of The Gaiety School of Acting and The National Performing Arts School. Her talent doesn't just stop at the stage, she is a trained Voice Over Artist (www.piehole.ie/melissanolan) and has worked on the likes of O2, Dublin Bus, The Power of One, Eurospar, Ken Lawfords Motors, Tara Towers Hotel, Mercer Group Hotels, GSC Engineering, Voice NewsGroup and many more.

Melissa has trained with Tony Wolf (Cultural Fighting Styles Director, THE LORD OF THE RINGS) in stage/screen combat here in Dublin, the UK and Amsterdam, specialising in Broadsword and Unarmed Combat.

Melissa toured Ireland and the UK as the female lead in the interactive show JOEY & MARIA'S COMEDY ITALIAN WEDDING for two years. She appeared again in another interactive show THE SOPRANO'S LAST SUPPER in the Tivolli Theatre which ran for 6 weeks, Christmas 2006. She also did the schools tour with ROMEO & JULIET with The I Shakespeare Company.

Frank Allen is the co-writer of CONNOLLY, which goes into production 2008. Adrian Dunbar will be directing this epic film. Melissa got involved with Frank's film company RASCAL FILMS after her saw her in the stage play CELL, by Paula Meahan last year and she was invited to tour the east coast of America promoting the role of NORA CONNOLLY. Frank directed Melissa recently in Heno McGee's HATCHET, playing the part of Bridie.

When not performing, Melissa teaches Speech & Drama with The Navan Road Stage School. Melissa is also Voice Over Workshop Co-ordinator in Velvet Voice Studios. www.velvetvoice.ie Melissa owns her own production company MEL PRODUCTIONS with her co- actor Melanie Philips. Together they perform stand up comedy and
have since turned their stand-up in to a mockumentary short film A TOUCH OF KLASS, which is currently in pre-production for a TV comedy series.
